Generally, what’s new at the Inn?
We believe that the Inn at Castle Hill is uniquely positioned for practicing social distance. The grounds of the Crane Estate, nearby Crane Beach, and 2,100 acres of the Crane Wildlife Refuge allow for calming walks, room to spread out, and ample opportunities to get outside and explore our breathtaking landscape.
The State of Massachusetts requires all travelers from out of state to self-quarantine for 14 days before arriving in Massachusetts. Travelers from a lower risk state are exempt from this rule. Lower risk states include Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and Hawaii.
14-Day Quarantine: Travelers from high risk states must self-quarantine for the 14 days prior to their arrival and fill out this Massachusetts Travel Form before they visit the state: https://www.mass.gov/forms/massachusetts-travel-form
72-hour Testing Rule: Travelers from higher risk states who do not self-quarantine, must produce, upon request, proof of a negative test result for COVID-19 from a test administered on a sample taken no longer than 72 hours before your arrival in Massachusetts. When guests return to our indoor spaces, they can be assured that our housekeeping staff is taking the necessary measures to sanitize all rooms thoroughly between guests and keeping frequently touched surfaces throughout the Inn clean and disinfected throughout the day.
Guests and staff will be asked to respect social distancing protocols as stated by the CDC and the State of Massachusetts. The Inn will have on hand various PPE (though we encourage guests to bring their own) and hand sanitizing stations throughout our spaces and in rooms. Some of our common spaces may be closed for guests’ use or temporarily modified to allow for greater social distancing. You can rest assured, however, that the friendly, thoughtful service we are known for will remain the same.
Arriving and Checking Out
Only guests with reservations are permitted to enter the Inn and must check in at the Crane Estate front gate. Upon arrival, all staff and guests will be required to wear masks and follow social distancing protocols. Check Ins will be contact free, and all transactions will be processed on credit cards only. Keys will be sanitized and waiting in your freshly cleaned and unlocked room upon your arrival. For checkout, guests will simply leave the key in the room unlocked and a final invoice will be mailed electronically. Check In (after 3PM) and Check Out (by 11AM) will remain the same, however guests may be asked to wait at a distance should our front desk area get busy. We will not accommodate any early check ins or late check outs due to our enhanced cleaning protocols.
Housekeeping & Guest Rooms
Our Housekeeping staff will sanitize all frequently touched surfaces throughout the day and our front desk will be sanitized before and after every guest interaction. We will not be offering daily housekeeping service to multiple night stays, so guests are confident they are the only persons entering their room during their stay. Extra towels, clean linens, robes, and replenished toiletries will be available upon request. Our housekeeping staff will be using CDC recommended cleaning products on all hard surfaces and will implement all state cleaning protocols into our procedures. Many decorative furnishings that are difficult to clean have been temporarily removed from our rooms
We will have a socially distant full breakfast in our dining room Due to the limited number of tables in our dining room, we will have two breakfast seatings. Guests will be asked at check in their preference (either 8AM or 9AM). We have also added a “Picnic Breakfast Box” option for guests who would prefer to dine outdoors on our porch or our grounds. We have eliminated any “buffet-style” dining and our servers will be wearing PPE for service. Our kitchen will continue to follow all our local health department and state restaurant guidelines surrounding food service. Our front desk can make recommendations on the many local restaurants that have remained open and have outdoor and in restaurant dining. Your Fried Clam fix still awaits!
